When the Taiko no Tatsujin controller's drum doesn't respond to drum taps properly

This applies to the following products:

  • Taiko no Tatsujin Drum Controller for Nintendo Switch
  • Taiko no Tatsujin Drum Controller for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4 and Windows 11/10
  • Taiko no Tatsujin Drum Controller for Xbox Series X|S and Windows 11/10

 

The head or rim of the drum doesn't respond well to drum taps

When the head or rim doesn't respond to drum taps or the note stays tapped in game, please try the following.

The head and rim of the drums are made of soft material, and thus the material may get deformed or damaged due to the following or similar scenarios.
- Change in room temperature
- Prolonged period without use
- An object was placed over the drum before use

If the condition of the head or rim changes, it's possible the head or rim won't respond to drum taps or a note stays tapped in game.
You may be able to improve the drum's condition with our maintenance tips, so please try the following when the drum isn't responding as expected.

Tip 1. Rub the head and rim of the drum


Tip 2. Strike the drum with the controller's drumsticks

By lightly tapping the drum you may be able to improve the drum's response.
*Excessive use of force may result in damage or injury, so please do not use full force on the drum.
