Nintendo Switch Controller Troubleshoot

Wired Controller (HORIPAD, Battle Pad, Fighting Stick Mini)

[Product SKU#: NSW-001U, NSW-107U NSW-108U, NSW-109U, NSW-135U, NSW-136U, NSW-149U]

- Make sure that your console and software is updated to latest firmware.

- Make sure that the Switch console is placed completely and properly into the dock.

- Turn off the console (Press and hold Power button until Power menu pop up. Select “Power Options” and choose “Turn Off”).

- Unplug and re-plug the wired controller cable into the USB slot.

- Turn on the console. The wired controller should be recognized immediately.

 

If problem still persists, try the following:

- Open "Controllers" on the HOME Menu.

- If the controller is not being recognized by the console, select "Change Grip/Order" to connect it.

 

Arcade Stick (RAP)

[Product SKU#: NSW-006U]

- Make sure that your console and software is updated to latest firmware.

- Make sure that the Switch console is placed completely and properly into the dock.

- Turn off the console (Press and hold Power button until Power menu pop up. Select “Power Options” and then select “Turn Off”).

- Unplug the controller

- Make sure that Assign Mode is “A-OFF” (“A-ON” will disable normal gameplay).

- Make sure that Tournament Mode is “T-OFF” (“T-ON” will disable + button on the top panel and assigned to Turbo button).

- Make sure that Platform Toggle Switch is toggled to “NS” (“PC” is for Windows PC use only).

- Plug the controller to Nintendo Switch dock.

- Turn on the console. The arcade stick should be recognized immediately.

 

If problem still persists, try the following:

- Open "Controllers" on the HOME Menu.

- If the controller is not being recognized by the console, select "Change Grip/Order" to connect it.

 

Joy-Con (D-Pad, Split Pad)

[Product SKU#: NSW-118U, NSW-119U, NSW-120U, NSW-182U]

- Make sure that your console and software is updated to latest firmware.

- Turn off the console (Press and hold Power button until Power menu pop up. Select “Power Options” and then select “Turn Off”).

- Slide the D-Pad/Split Pad from top to bottom along the rails on the left side of the Nintendo Switch until you hear a click.

- Turn on the console. The D-Pad/Split Pad should be recognized immediately.

 

If problem still persists, try the following:

- Open "Controllers" on the HOME Menu.

- If the controller is not being recognized by the console, select "Change Grip/Order" to connect it.

- If the left stick is not responding correctly, please rotate the left stick two or three times in large circles to calibrate.

 

Wireless Controller

[Product SKU#: NSW-098U, NSW-104U]

- Make sure that your console and software is updated to latest firmware.

- Using separate controller (e.g. Joy-Con, PRO controller) select “Controllers”, choose “Change Grip/Order” from the HOME Menu.

- Press and hold Sync Button on wireless controller for at least two seconds. Controller will now pair to your console automatically.

- Once the controller shows up on the screen, press A button to finish.
